Gabe is now officially a kindergartener. He started his first full day today and was just a tad excited, ok, he was really excited. We had a short orientation visit yesterday to see his classroom, meet his teacher and some other kids and today was his first whole day.
He woke up this morning like any other morning, got ready, ate his breakfast and off to the bus stop we went. We got there way too early so he was jumping out of his pants waiting for the bus to finally arrive. Papa met us there so that helped to keep Gabe preoccupied during our long wait. When we finally saw the bus coming up the hill, Mom and Dad had to sneak in a quick hug and kiss and off he went. He climbed on the bus, didn't look back and chose a seat close to the back. Even though there were empty seats he chose to sit with another boy.
It's a big day for all of us, he's ready and I can't wait to see him walk off that bus this afternoon and hear all about it.

What a thrill. Enjoy this new chapter - it goes by way too fast.
It meant a lot to me to be there watching him get on the bus for his first day. As I watched the whole family, I knew that Mom and Dad had prepared him well. What a kid.
Here's hoping that his excitement for school lasts for the next 12 years! Gabe's an amazing little boy - they certainly did prepare him well :)
